Llega el final de verano y con ello la vendimia en Ciudad real, en el resto de la Península Ibérica, así como en numerosas partes del mundo, una actividad agrícola que se sabe que ya en Egipto, e incluso en tiempos anteriores, era una práctica habitual. Y es que el vino levanta pasiones desde tiempos inmemoriales, hasta tal punto que los romanos le asignaron a Baco la orgullosa etiqueta de Dios del vino.
Vendimia en Ciudad Real
Un poco de historia…
A continuación, queremos contaros la vendimia en Ciudad Real, como qué tipo de uva se utiliza más en los campos manchegos y cuándo se lleva a cabo la vendimia. Pero para entrar un poco en contexto, antes hablaremos del maravilloso procedimiento para convertirla en uno de los líquidos más preciados del mundo.
A finales de agosto es natural que comience la recogida de uva en Ciudad Real y, por ende, en Castilla la Mancha. Este agosto no ha sido menos y la primera variedad de uva recogida ha sido la Chardonnay, puesto que tiene un ciclo más corto que la variedad autóctona de Airén, ambas una variedad de uva blanca. Es bueno recordar que en Castilla la Mancha hay producción tanto de vino tinto como de vino blanco y rosado. La variedad de uva que se cultiva es de uva blanca como: Sauvignon Blanc, Moscatel y Verdejo, además de las anteriormente mencionadas. De uva tinta tenemos las variedades de Petit Verdor, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha y Tempranillo.
Algo muy importante y que se tiene muy en cuenta es que la recogida suele ser nocturna, puesto que la uva entra a bodega mucho más fresca y con menor oxidación, lo que ayudará a la conservación de los aromas y sabores más auténticos de la uva.
Los enólogos y viticultores de la zona prevén que de esta producción se producirá un vino de muy buena calidad para este 2024.
La Fiesta de la Vendimia en Ciudad Real se organizó durante el primer fin de semana de octubre. La fiesta estuvo promovida por FEDADA (Federación de Asociaciones «Ciudad de Daimiel») y el Ayuntamiento de Ciudad Real. Además, este acto congregó numerosas actividades culturales relacionadas con la vendimia, en las que destacan las catas de vino, experiencias gastronómicas, concursos de vendimiadores y cabalgata de la uva, entre otras.
Programa de la fiesta de la vendimia
La fiesta de la vendimia sirvió para homenajear a un año entero de trabajo y se celebró con los siguientes actos:
27 de septiembre. Presentación oficial del Programa de Actos de la fiesta de la vendimia en la Bodega de Garrones a las 20:30h.
28 de septiembre. Almuerzo y concurso de vendimia a las 9:00h en Viña de Doña Rosa Ruiz de la Hermosa. Contó con un desayuno, el concurso “Mejor pareja de vendimiadores”, regalos y chuches para niños y un lanzamiento de racimo a la Espuerta.
29 de septiembre. Se organizó una Máster Class de Cocina sobre técnicas de cocinado y texturas por el Chef D. Rubén Sánchez-Camacho a las 12:00h.
4 de octubre. Tendrá lugar el pregón, presentado por Luis Alberto Roncero, en el Teatro Ayala a las 21:00h. En este se nombrarán a los Pisadores y Vendimiadores de Honor 2019. A la finalización de este acto, se realizó una chorizada popular en el Parterre Municipal y una degustación de chorizo a la plancha y vino. A partir de las 23:30h música y baile en el Wendi-guateque.
5 de octubre. Visita guiada al Museo Comarcal de Daimiel, Cata de Vinos comentada en el espacio Fisac-Mercado Municipal a cargo de D. Francisco Plaza, sumiller de Segovia y vocal de la UAES (Unión de Asociaciones Españolas de Sumilleres), cabalgata de la uva, ofrenda a Jesús Nazareno donde se vieron personas ataviadas con trajes regionales, pisa de la Uva a las 22:00h donde Laura González Mohíno y Lorena Berdún se encargaron de convertir las uvas en mosto. Se hicieron muestras de bailes regionales a cargo de grupos folklóricos (el grupo folk Tablas de Daimiel) y la ofrenda del Mosto a Nuestra Señora Virgen de las cruces a las 23:00h.
6 de octubre. Fiesta de clausura de la fiesta de la vendimia en el Parterre Municipal a las 12:00h donde entregaron los premios de los concursos y más de 1200 personas degustaron tapas relacionadas con la vendimia: gachas de pisto, migas, pincho moruno, chorizo, huevos fritos, panceta, melón y dos bebidas.
