The first settlements in Daimiel date back to the Bronze Age and with the Motilla del Azuer archaeological site as proof. A curiosity is that the oldest well in the Iberian Peninsula has been discovered here. This makes it a mandatory stop if you are looking for what to see in Daimiel and surrounding areas. Of great historical importance, it can currently be visited by hiring a prior visit. It is one of the must-sees that you cannot miss! To continue with history, we go to the Calatrava la Nueva Castle, which is quite well preserved and is a place you should go to. It was built as a replacement for the headquarters that was located in Calatrava la Vieja. It began as a Visigothic town and later became an authentic complex that has a church, inn, convent, village and external enclosure, all fortified.
