Daimiel

From the Hotel Doña Manuela you can walk to the Plaza de España, where the ancient olive tree planted by the Arabs is located. From here you can take the pedestrian streets that will take you to the Church of Santa María la Mayor, from the end of the 14th century, with an interesting baroque carving of the Christ of the Expiration. Below you can also see the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, built in the 16th century. At the Regional Museum you can learn about the history and customs of Daimiel. It is the ideal space to delve into the Bronze Age and learn more about Las Motillas, the most important site in the province, which is more than 4,000 years old.

Almagro

Almagro, a Historical-Artistic Complex from the 16th-17th centuries, is located just a few minutes from Daimiel. The city was occupied by the Knights of the Calatrava order and by Central European families who beautified it with their palaces. Among them, the Valdeparaíso Palace stands out, with its spectacular Corral de Comedias, a 17th century theater. Also notable is its Plaza Mayor, typically La Mancha but with European influences. A few kilometers from Almagro you can also visit the Castle of Calatrava la Nueva, one of the most important medieval fortifications in the province.

Cabañeros

Approximately 1 hour from Daimiel is the Cabañeros National Park, representative of the Mediterranean forest. Your visit will be unforgettable if you do it during the autumn months, as you will be able to observe the beautiful colors of the autumn landscape and the concentrations of deer. Please note that it is essential to make an appointment to visit the Park. At the Casa Padillos Visitor Center you can also see the permanent exhibition that brings us closer to the natural values of the Cabañeros environment.

Las Tablas de Daimiel

The Daimiel Tables are a practically unique wetland in Europe and the last representative of the ecosystem called river tables. It is an area incredibly rich in fauna, flora and history. It is the perfect choice to know, value and instill the value of its conservation, in addition to marveling at the landscapes and the variety of species that it shows us. The Park has three routes that are done on foot, preferably in silence and in small groups. You can also take advantage of guided tours in all-terrain vehicles, bird watching activities, hiking and the many possibilities offered by this unique natural setting.

Villanueva de los Infantes

Villanueva de los Infantes is a Historical-Artistic Complex that dates back to the 16th-17th centuries. In its square clarity, harmony and elegance are combined, with a predominance of Renaissance architectural elements and classicist Baroque in the palatial houses. Francisco de Quevedo, famous writer of the Golden Age, died in the Convent of Santo Domingo.

La motilla del Azuer

La Motilla del Azuer, an archaeological site more than 4,000 years old, has recently been opened to the public. It could be called ``The great hidden treasure of Daimiel,'' since it belongs to the Bronze Age and is a unique stone structure in the world.
